Why Healthy Choice is Awesome

I first wrote this post for the Media Two blog Media Two Point {oh!}. They’ve been awesome enough to let me repost it here.

This past Saturday, Morgan and I were guest co-hosts on Gregory Ng‘s internet frozen food review show, Freezerburns. We were there to have some fun, get Morgan comfortable with frozen food, and spread the word about St. Baldrick’s. This is where Healthy Choice came into the picture.

Through a relationship he has with the marketing department, Greg was able to secure Healthy Choice as the sponsor for our episode. They went above and beyond their call of duty. They donated food for the show, which was expected. But they donated enough to keep both me and Morgan in lunches for a while.

As if that weren’t enough, they promoted the show through their Twitter account @Healthy_Choice and Facebook page, followed me and Morgan on Twitter, and have conversed with us back and forth over the last few days. They also had three people present on the Ustream chat during the live show to answer questions about their products for us and the viewers. At 8:30. On a Saturday night.

The main event, though, happened about halfway through the roughly one-hour show. We were presented with a HUGE check from Healthy Choice for a $1000 donation to our St. Baldrick’s team. Morgan and I had no idea the check existed until the presentation during the show. We were already so impressed with the way Healthy Choice was handling their social media and all the extras they had thrown into this experience. And now they were supporting us in our mission to raise awareness and money for children’s cancer research. Speechless.

This is what makes them awesome. They have a great product, are willing to put it out for honest feedback, and connect personally with customers. And now, I know that they care for the community. There are so many things I love about Healthy Choice, but the personal connection I have with this donation in particular will give me warm fuzzies every time I reach for their product in the frozen entree aisle – which I will do often.

So, from the bottom of our hearts (and bellies), Morgan and I want to say THANK YOU to Healthy Choice for everything. You are awesome!

P.S. Check out this other cool thing they’re doing for children. Child hunger ends here.
