What Will the Calendar of the Future Do for You?
“The calendar of the future needs to know that there’s traffic en route to my meeting, and prompt me to leave 20 minutes early.” –Jonathan Levitt, VP Marketing, Tungle
“The calendar of the future should help me to optimize the way I spend my time so I can get more accomplished in a day.” –Richard Zeidel, VP Strategic Alliances, Tungle
Tungle.me is a scheduling application that, among other things, you can sync up with your existing calendars, so that everything is in one place. As a result, you can avoid double-bookings, and more easily schedule events both inside and outside the company. You can even invite others to the scheduling process without their having to sign up for a Tungle account.
This interested me, so I signed up for an account. I’ll be putting the link to my Tungle.me page in my email signature, LinkedIn profile, etc. I’d like to see how it catches on.

I read an article today on The Next Web—“Tungle Asks: What Does the Calendar of the Future Look Like?” Several people from companies such as Google and Plancast answer this question over a four-minute video, with some ideas that I think are pretty cool.
Basically, the calendar of the future will make life better for us because it will be available wherever we are. It will hold all the information we need for the day/week/month so that we can get a picture for how to best optimize our time. It will make our lives more efficient. Does that mean we’ll have time to do more work or play?
